We Love Family History!

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
we love Family History.
Elder McEwan, Elder Cruz (Zone Leaders in Primavera)
with Sister Nuñez and Sister Pineda welcome guests to the Family History Fair.
It is the Doctrine of Christ that each person must hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
and for himself accept or reject these teachings.
Being a fair and unchanging God, these blessings are available to all,
those living and those who have passed on to the other side of the veil.

For the Family History Fair,
classes were taught, presentations given and there was lots of information on doing your own family history.

We do genealogy research to find our kindred dead and perform ordinances, such as baptism, in our temples, for them.

In this way, they can then accept or reject the teachings of Christ and his atoning sacrifice for them.

I am so thankful for a loving God, who provides a path for all of his children to return to him, not only those who lived after his birth, death and resurrection.

Here are some of the youth of the Primavera Stake doing indexing.  This means they are extracting names and dates from birth records here in Peru, and submitting those names for their ordinances.
What a great youth activity.

My Family- 4 generation program

During the this interview cycle, Sister Marler is providing insight into the "My Family" Pamphlet
Elder Bates displays his "My Family, Stories that Bring Us Together"

The purpose of the "My Family" Pamphlet is to help people have an easy start to their genealogy, and through memories and stories, bring families closer together.

The pages include the names, dates and special memories of each missionary and their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
Sister Marler displays her eternal family as she teaches about the importance of using the "My Family" booklet.
Our goal is to use this pamphlet while teaching and have those we teach have the opportunity to think about their family history and begin to more fully appreciate their family heritage.  Every one can get started on their "My Family" book, by printing from this link: MyFamiyBooklet-2.pdf
"My Family" is available throughout the world in 22 languages.
Sister Marler loves her family tree, and here she displays pictures of her mother's family
Families are the basic, foundational unit of the Church of Jesus Christ.  It is within the family that we nurture, raise and train.

In the closing chapter of the Old Testament, Malachi, shares the following, " Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers."

The Angel Moroni reemphasized this message in his initial instructions to Joseph Smith in 1823, as the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth.  Thus the statue of the Angel Moroni is place on each of our temples, as we sound the trump and welcome the Second Coming of our Savior
This is our goal, to bring families together for all eternity.
