A Day at the Temple, Cajamarca Norte and Central Zones

One of the great blessings we enjoy is to have our missionaries attend the

temple every few months.  

During this transfer cycle, we are having every zone visit the temple.

We make and effort to talk about the blessings that come to those who visit the temple as often as possible.

We have studied the 109 section of the Doctrine and Covenants,

and understand more and more about the temple.

Best Friends Leave Trujillo!

One of the blessings of serving a mission is meeting new people and 

gaining some new best friends.

James and Whitney Fenn have been here building the temple, 

and now that we have the temple completed, 

it was time for them to return to the U.S.A.

They are a special part of our lives here, our adopted family,

and their legacy will live on and on here in Trujillo.

The day of the Trujillo Temple Dedication.

A day of joy for the Fenn's who spent every day for the last 4 years overseeing the construction.

The Fenn's are some of the most loving and giving people we have met.

They always see needs in others lives and share.

They lived the Trujillo dream, leaving good friends from work, from the Church, 

from their neighborhood. 

They are a great example of Christ-like love.

They will be missed by all. 

The Trujillo Temple Dedication

The Dedication of the Trujillo Temple was lovely.

It was wonderful to be in the temple once again with so many wonderful 

members of the Church.

 We were reminded of the importance of the temple in our lives,

and our roll to invite all to receive these sacred saving ordinances,

Baptism, the Endowment and Instructions, and the Sealing of Families for all Eternity.

 President Uchtdorf gave the Dedicatory Prayer in the 1st session.

Between sessions he walked among the members, shaking hands and sharing his love.

 Friends greeted friends between sessions.

 Elder Bednar also walked around the temple grounds and greeted guests. 

 We found a few of our returned missionaries on the grounds with their friends.

 Hugging good friends, it was so nice to talk with our dear friends, Elder Waddell and his lovely wife Carol, also from the San Diego area.

¿Qué paso a los panqueques del Presidente Marler?

A noche, nosotros fuimos al templo con la presidencia de Presidente Marler.

I usually write in English, but I knew these sisters would want to read this entry…so here it is in English:  Last night we went to the temple with President Marler's presidency.

It was a perfect night and we found many missionaries.

Like Sister Guevara, Sister Hansen and Sister Degracia.

and Sister Bravo, Sister Rejala, Sister Tulumba and Sister Assef.

I invited them for breakfast, with pancakes by Sister Marler. like a good wife, I saved

some for my husband who had to go to the temple. 

The Sisters washed the dishes, or maybe broke them, and when president returned home, he looked for the pancakes.  Where were they?

Leadership Council: a time of teaching, learning and reflection

Sister Rejala began the day with a beautiful musical number. 

Being Born Again (Nacer de Nuevo), or "converted" to the Gospel of Jesus Christ
is essential to our eternal progression and eventual exaltation.
Our desire to follow Jesus Christ, the first step...needs to be followed by our actions to do as He asks.

Elder Gonzalez and Elder Meaker shared a special musical number. 

Then there was the million dollar question, "Can you do 5 things at once?"
The answer is yes, if we stay focused!

Everyone enjoyed Elder Marshall's ability to juggle...

Finding scripture references to help every person learn to fine the
answers to life's problems, questions and desires,
and then knowing how to teach others to do the same.  

During Concilio, we all went to the temple for a tour.  It was a wonderful experience to
have President Marler as our tour guide.

 Sister Leader Trainers, Sister Hidalgo and Sister Reynolds are in charge of the Sisters for the Trujillo Temple Open House.  They are doing an amazing job, as they organize the Sisters, act as hostesses and help out the visiting authorities of the Church.
