Thanksgiving Peruvian Style…or very American?

What do you do when you are in a land far away, and you find that your favorite holiday is upon you?
Open the turkey here and there is a foot and….drum roll please...
…the head, attached to the neck, this is so you know it is a real Turkey
You invite lots of people for dinner, until you have the amount that you are used to having.

You have everyone bring their favorite item to eat for the big Thanksgiving Dinner.
Turkey, dressing, 2 kinds of potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, cinnamon rolls, yum, yum, yum

You try to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the internet.
You cook a Turkey all day, go to a wedding (OK it isn't Thanksgiving here and life goes on)

Then open the door to your friends and have a lovely Thanksgiving dinner.
Then when dinner is over, and the pumpkin pie with whipped cream has been licked clean,

You follow every tradition you have (other than black olives on fingers-because they don't have them here)

...and decorate your Christmas tree
and thanks to my sweet daughter-in-law, Tiffany, I have the most lovely tree!

We adopted the Talbot family so we could have grandkids help us decorate the tree this year
Thanks Talbots, it made our day perfect to have you here
Hunter is the most awesome tree decorator ever...

Then we Skyped the Grandkids in the U.S.A.
It was a perfect Thanksgiving

Kurt and I are so thankful for each and everyone of you: our missionaries, their parents who pray for us all, our friends (both in the U.S. and here in Peru), for our children and grandchildren who also pray for us and make up for everything while we are away, for our sisters and brothers, and parents who love and support us.

We love you all and hope you have a perfect Christmas Season.
