Our service today was the most fun ever...We cleaned the streets with brooms and dustpans…yep, that is how they do it here, the the best part ever, we got to drive the "trash-bike-carts" around town. We cleaned, we had races and we got a great work-out during our service project.
Elder Zavaleta "drives" the trash "bike" while the street sweepers sweep and pick up trash
Elder Smith and Elder Dow, cleaning the streets of Vista Alegre
Hermana Calle, Hermana Poma and Hermana Balcaza enjoying a short break for a photo
Elder Boekweg and Elder Leavitt organized the Helping Hands service project and had a great time riding up and down the street collating garbage, tree limbs and getting a great deal of exercise!
Elder Rittscher and Elder Almonacid would drive to a dirty area, stop the cart and fill up their dumpster…everyone worked hard
Sister Pullan and Sister Worlton cheering as they completed another section of the street clean-up project
Elder Rotolo rushing to get to another area to get back to work
Elder Zavaleta and Elder Hernandez
Elder Brown was a champ at all tasks…he even came in first place during the "trash bike race"
Elder Huayhuapuma and Elder Ataurima using dual power to get down the street
Elder Daiz and Elder Garcia working with the Alcalde (Mayor of Vista Alegre)
Elder Rodriguez developed his own technique as the neighborhood watched him work
Elder Shimp cleaning up behind a moto-taxi
Elder Tirado found a sweet sister to share a message of Christ.
This may have been one of the sweetest moments of our service.
Elder Brown again, what talent!
Elder Antuña on his way to deliver brooms and dust pans to the missionaries
It looks like Sister Marler took a day job… thanks for the help Elder Huayhuapuma
Just so you know these carts are really heavy and the beach cruiser attached is no match for the weight of the cart. We have new found respect for the people of Trujillo that keep our streets clean.
Elder Rotolo, after a hard days work
Garbage truck races, Thanks to Elder Zavaleta and Elder Antuña I took 2nd place
Elder Tirado, Sister Carbone, Elder Hernandez, Sister Villanueva and Sister Mathis relax after a hard days work
Elder Dow and Elder Diaz, re-cap the day
