Office Elders…can't live without them!

Running a mission is a big job.  The success of a mission relys a great deal on the dedication and hard work of our office Elders and the Assistants to the President.

We spend a lot of time with these 6 missionaries, as they care for the records, the mail, the health of the missionaries, provide training, act as tutors for Sister Marler's Spanish, translate, keep President Marler on schedule and at the right meetings at the right time.  They accompany us to meetings, missionaries to doctor appointments, deliver packages from home and spend hours trying to receive packages from the U.S. (the mail system is a little different here), they pay all the bills, and handle all the finances for our 230 missionaries…they have a huge responsibility.

We love them all so much, and it is a real treat to get to know a group of such fine young men.  So I wanted to highlight those who have served with us over the last 7 months.

We love you all, and we are so glad for the opportunity we have had to work with you.

I called this group our dream team, they were called by President Turk and they saw us through our fist 3 months here in Trujillo.  They taught us so much, they were our trainers.  They encompassed everything a trainer should be, kind, thoughtful, hardworking, obedient, service oriented, spiritual, great missionaries, great teachers, human GPS.  We were blessed to have them guide us and help us.
Left to right: Elder Castillo, Elder Fackrell, Elder Diaz, Elder Zarian, Elder Bravo, Elder Smith and President Marler this was our first day in Trujillo.
After three months it was time for Elder Zarian to return home, and President Marler sent two of his most wonderful missionaries, Elder Bravo and Elder Fackrell up into the Sierra to help build the Lord's kingdom in Santiago de Chuco, Otusco and Huamachuco.

Elder Castillo and Elder Smith served as Assistants to the President together for 4 months… what a great team!
December change brought need for a new Zone leader in Palermo and Elder Diaz was off to serve in another capacity.  Elder Guerrero joined the office staff.
Elder Hernandez, Elder Smith, Elder Castillo and Elder Guerrero welcome Elder Alfaro to the Trujillo Mission, Elder Cruz, was Elder Alfaro's trainer.
Next Elder Leon joined the team, he got us through the busy Christmas season and is now teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Los Cedros.

In February Elder Castillo retuned home after two great years of service.  He served twice in the office, and was a phenomenal assistant.

Elder Zaveleta joined Elder Smith and they are enjoying their service together.  We have been so blessed with such wonderful Elders to help keep everything running smoothly here in the Trujillo Mission.
Elder Zavaleta, Elder Castillo, Elder Boekweg, Elder Tway, Elder Smith
Elder Triado joined the office staff in January.  He is our new Secretary de Suministras (that means he handles all mail, packages, and hand-outs for missionaries for meetings.  He is a missionaries' best friend when packages and letters come from home).
Elder Boekweg, Elder Smith, Elder Hernandez, Elder Zavaleta, Elder Antuña, Elder Leavitt, Elder Tirado & Elder Tway
Now here we are today, March 5, 2014…as you can see we have 8 Elders in this photo…Elder Tway (far right) is almost done training Elder Leavitt, and Elder Tway will be headed back out in the field.
In the very center, you will see Elder Antuña, he is our new Assistant to the President, he will be taking Elder Smith's place when he leaves to go home next Monday.

And then there are silly moments like these….

Don't even ask...

We Couldn't Do It All Without You
"You are the Best"
We love you all,
thanks for your wonderful service to the Lord
and to the best mission in the world, "Misión Perú Trujillo"
