Missionares Return Home - October 2015

Coming and going, coming and going.

Our lives are marked in six weeks increments.

We say good-bye, not knowing if we will see you again,

Hearts full of sadness, and yet joy in a service well rendered.

Tomorrow, we say hello,  the joy of a new beginning, 

new missionaries, new sons and daughters added to our family.

Take courage, all, this is "the first day of the rest of your life."

Live it well, live it for Him.

Mormon Helping Hands Day

Well this day ended up being a real blessing.

We went to the beach at Huanchaco, just outside of Trujillo

for the annual Beach Clean Up.

When before our eyes were missionaries from the

Trujillo South Mission.

We never dreamed that a community service project,

 (with 3000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)

Would turn into a family reunion.

Getting ready for the division

I will be putting together a few posts so you can see the progress of

 getting ready for the mission division.

The Church has been putting together new office space, getting a new mission home

ready for occupation, meanwhile:

we have been preparing for the division as well.

We are starting to call the new office staff...

The first came into the office today, Elder Talbot

he will serve as the Personal Secretary to President Rios

Elder Talbot has been our medical specialist in the Trujillo Mission 

and will do a great job in the Trujillo South Mission.

Earlier in the week we purchased the furniture for the curates (rooms)

for the Trujillo South Mission Office Staff and Assitants

 6 beds, 6 chairs, 6 mattresses, 3 study tables, 6 book cases.

Welcome President and Sister Rios to the Trujillo Peru South Mission...

The Trujillo Peru Mission will be dividing in a few weeks and we are preparing for the division.

Our last transfers will be on June 16, next Tuesday. 

On July 1, 2015 there will be 2 new missions, 

The Trujillo Peru North Mission with President and Sister D. Kurt Marler 

The Trujillo Peru South Mission with President  and Sister Manuel Rios Alejandro

Here is a picture of the Rios, and a little biographical sketch.

Manuel Rios Alejandro, 49, and Beatriz Huamani de Rios, two children, Santa Victoria Ward, Chiclayo Perú Stake: Perú Trujillo South Mission. Brother Rios serves as a bishop and is a former high councilor, bishopric counselor, ward Sunday School president and missionary in the Perú Lima North Mission. Institute director, LDS Seminaries and Institutes. Born in Lima, Perú, to Angel Rios Sacramento and Ana Francia Alejandro Granados de Rios.
Sister Rios serves as a ward Primary presidency counselor and is a former stake Relief Society presidency counselor, ward Young Women president, ward Primary presidency counselor, Relief Society teacher and nursery leader. Born in Lima, Perú, to Adrian Rosalio Huamani Atocsa and Valentina Taype Contreras de Huamani.

We have had the honor of meeting the Rios family, they had lunch one day in our home

and President Rios has met with President Marler on occasion.  

They are a wonderful couple and we look forward to serving beside them

in Trujillo.
