Find a Grave, service project

After each of our Leadership Training Meetings we have an activity.
One month it may be a soccer or volleyball game,
and another time we provide different servicesto the community.
This month we participated in a Family History project,
capturing images in the Mira Flores Cemetery here in Trujillo.
We put all of the images on "Find a Grave", web site, for people around the world who are seeking to find their ancestors.

First, information was gathered from each grave or crypt.
Then an image was taken to upload onto the
"Find a Grave" web site.

Every companionship was assigned an area.
We only wish we had have had more time to record every grave marker.
Elder Ricapa, Elder Heward, Elder Welch and Elder Coca.
Sister Richins working with Elder Fackrell,

After taking the pictures and gathering the information we met back at the mission office
to upload the information onto the computers.
While some missionaries worked on uploading, others participated in team building activities.

At the end of the day, all the information about each person,
their name, birth and death date was recorded and uploaded to
"Find a Grave"
It was a great service to those who enjoy working on their
Family History around the world who may have ancestors who once lived here in Trujillo.

When we give, we receive

We had a wonderful service project at a local orphanage.  The children loved playing with the missionaries and helping pick up leaves and trash on the campus.  We learned how to spin tops and loved playing games with the children.
We were supposed to be serving by cleaning up the orphanage grounds and playing with the children, but we received the far greater blessing by being with these delightful, lovely children.
Here is the Mission Leadership Council with a few of the kids from the orphanage
