Welcome to Pacasmayo

I thought you might like to see a few pictures of the city of Pacasmayo.
It is right on the beach, and a very nice city.
We were here during an international marathon and the 4th of July...so they even had a few fireworks.
The most prominent feature is the huge statue of Christ, at the Pacasmayo Cemetery.
 It overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
This was once a busy seaport, exporting minerals and fruits, vegetables and fresh cheese from
Cajamarca to the rest of the world.  A rail way ran from Cajamarca to Pacasmayo,
but has long been abandoned.
I think this is a modern day rameumpton.  On top of a hotel this one person tower, faces the ocean.
There is some pretty cool street art, we call it graffiti at home.
Three little old ladies sitting on a park bench.
Elder Bond, Elder Heward, Elder Haacke and Elder Romero strolling down the avenue.
The Cemetery is surrounded by beautiful murals, they depict the life of Christ
and this one, the Creation.  They are lovely.
Here is a pictures of the sea front, there is a light house out on the end of the point to the left,
but we didn't have time to go out there.
The Cemetery Gate with the Pacific Ocean behind us.

Hope you enjoyed our little tour, we are now off to Cajamarca.
More of our mission tour to come!
