A White Night in Esperanza

Elder Andia, Elder Claros, Elder Palacio and Elder Vera had a lovely "White Night"
Congratulations to all who entered the waters of baptism
Baptism is a covenant (2 way promise) with our Heavenly Father.  We promise Him to follow the commandments, To always remember Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for us.  He promises us to always have His Spirit with us.
In Mosiah Chapter 18 in the Book of Mormon we learn about the baptismal covenant and our commitments to follow the Savior and uplift our fellow man.

Baptisms in Trujillo

Our work as missionaries is to invite people to come unto Christ
The missionaries work each day in a designated area, with companions

As they visit homes, by invitation of the family, they teach lessons about the doctrines of Christ
They teach the principles that he taught while upon the earth, about His love and
His atoning sacrifice for them
With this gift of His perfect life, His suffering in Gethsemane, His death on the cross, and His resurrection.  We too can raise from the dead, and be with our family and loved ones for all eternity
The invitation to come unto Christ is an invitation to follow in His footsteps and one of the first things the Savior did as He began His ministry was to be baptized.  He said it was to fulfill all righteousness
For us Baptism is the door that leads us to path we are to walk for the rest of our lives

Baptism cleanses us from sin

Baptism is a sacred ordinance, a saving ordinance

When we are baptized we become members of Christ's Church

In Christ's Church, we are baptized with Priesthood Authority,
the same authority that John the Baptist held

We follow Christ and are baptized by immersion, that means that we are totally submerged in the water and come forth clean, new and pure…
We hope you enjoyed some of the pictures of our recent baptisms, and learned a little more about baptism in the Lord's Church

Training for District Leaders

We had our first District Leader Training.  It was a great success.  Trainings were included on the subjects of how to have a great district meeting, the best way to go over the key indicators and some wonderful spiritual messages.

The District Leaders have time to plan and practice what they will teach to the other missionaries next week in their District Meetings.

After Elder Zavaleta and Elder Antuña's great lesson and demonstrations by other Zone Leaders (Elder Zacharias and Elder Tway) everyone is ready to be even better in their assignment.

Nosotros Amamos Nuestra Pensionistas

"We Love Our Pensionistas"
This was the theme of our Pensionista Conference, and a wonderful time was had by all.

The training by President Marler and the Assistants, Elder Antuña and Elder Zavaleta and Sister Marler were received well.   The Assistants spoke on the rules to help Missionaries have happier, healthier lives.

Sister Marler taught about nutrition and the planning of a variety of delicious meals.  Missionaries, take some time to share with your Pensionistas the food you like.

Many of the Pensionistas bore testimony of the great blessing it is to have the missionaries in their homes.  They love their callings and they love their missionaries.

We finished up the meeting with Cakes and homemade cookies.  Alicia made Peanut Butter Cookies and Chocolate Chip cookies from Sister Marler's family recipes…which are now included in the Pensionista Guide Book.

Raising the next generation of Pensionistas!

Thanks again to all of our wonderful pensionistas, it was such a pleasure to meet with you all and to have the opportunity to talk with you.
